Handy molded plastic storage case designed specifically for the Equus OBD II Code Reader. Conveniently holds code reader and instruction manual.
Customer Review :
OK case but it looks cheap and flimsy
When I received this box I was quite disappointed with its quality and functionality. The construction looks flimsy and the plastic looks cheap. I've expected that there will be separate sections for the reader and for the cables. Nope. There are no separate sections and worst, placing the reader leaves not that much space for the two cables (one cable to connect the reader to your car and one USB cable). Actually, I keep both cables on top of each other. One can argue that I don't need the USB cable but it actually fills the empty space above the OBD II cable. In general, this case holds the reader and the cables, but I would go for something which offers more space for all Equus accessories.

code reader box
this box is an empty black box and for 10.00 its not worth it. You can get you a regular box that will do the purpose.

The Next Generation of Automotive Scanners from AutoXray
Customer Review :
Great Product but Lacks Some Enhanced Function
I bought this scanner mainly for its enhanced data functionality. However, after activating the GM Enhanced Data I found out that it was still not able to display some of the enhanced data such as CAM Retard, which is what I needed to set the distributor on by GM Vehicle. The standard features worked good, fast communication between scanner and vehicle, and you can clear codes without having to shut the engine down (cheaper scanners force you to have the engine off to reset the fault codes). If SPX can get all of the enhanced data working on this scanner I would give it a 5. My best word of advice before you buy, search forums and call SPX tech support to verify the data you need is available on the scanner.

Questions & Answers
Question : I own a Sears Engine analyzer model 161.2182 and need the manual. Does anyone know where to find one?
I can use either the manual, or a photo copy of a manual. Sears has indicated that the manual is no longer available.
Sears has indicated that this is no longer available. Not available over the internet that I can find as well.

Question : Give me your opinion insights and summary or how you understand this..?
Give me your opinion insights and summary or how you understand this..?
Answer:
Reality check.
The philippines has good sound laws but corrupt political influences always delay the implementation of these laws.
By the time these laws are enforced, they become so obsolete that another law must be passed (just like the politicians who regularly pass gas - i.e. fart through their mouth).

Question : 2001 chevy venture --- Slow take off and taking lots o gas with clear smoke coming out from tailpipe?
I replaced my engine three weeks ago as I blew up my head gasket. The mechanic assured me that I will be fine by replacing the engine. So I replaced by spending $2400 on it. And, now my van is consuming LOTS LOTS of gas. I barely go for 23 miles in $10(3 gallons) of gas. Also, my van is having a very very slow take off. I really realy have to put my foot on gas real hard to let he van take off and see lots of clear smoke from my tail pipe.
My engine light was on and through analyzer, I found out that mass air flow and O2 sensor are malfunction. Also, analyzer reported other three codes such as 408, 412, 443.
I replaced the MAF sensor and problems is still persisting. I have already spent sooo much on this van and I am not being comfortable spending any more.
Please help me out here and any advice will be helpful.
Answer:
how come you didnt go back to the guy who replaced the engine? He should have had it running perfect before he gave it back to you!!!!!!
Sounds to me like something is not hooked up right. Mayeb an O2 sensor unplugged. Maybe a coolant temp sensor unlugged or plugged in the wrong place. Have him go back over all his work and dont take the van untill it is running right!

Question : 98 civic o2 censor. HELP?
I recently just bought a 98 civic LX and the engine light was on it when I bought it. I figured it was some of the aftermarket stuff under the hood but just to be safe I took it to autozone and got it checked. The guy said it was the front o2 censor and it would cost $86 just for the part. It was the only thing the analyzer caught so what should I do. I have been searching the web and found out that there is a lot of diffrent things that could be setting off the o2 censor alert. Thanks ahead of time
Answer:
there are a lot of things that CAN cause an O2 code but USUALLY and O2 code is an O2 sensor, if you are concerned about spending the money and that not fixing the problem take it to a real garage that knows how to diagnose cars and not a parts store with a scanner

Question : So... I am preparing to take the L1 this spring...?
It's kinda making me nervous. Are you a certified master? Is there anything you can tell me (without cheating) that will help me get ready for the test? I'm certified in engine performance and hvac, the tests were fairly easy, been the driveability tech for the last 11 years at 3 different shops, and so yes I'm proficient and expedient, no comebacks, no misdiagnoses, obviously confident enough to brag (haha).
So is the test as hard as it sounds? To me, it seems a little biased because, although the composite vehicle is accurate and the composite veh. manual has excellent info and specs, there are several different regions of the country that are not required to test emissions, thus the technicians in these areas would not have exposure to the 5 gas analyzer or subsequent emissions training. Also, the composite vehicle lacks a tire pressure monitor system wich is standard on all makes and models.
What do you think? Did you pass the first time or have to take it two or three times?
Answer:
JUST STUDY GUIDES,READ THE QUESTIONS CLOSELY THERE JUST LIKE THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE THERE WILL BE GAS ANALIZER AREA QUESTIONS,EVAP,ELECTRICAL AND TRANSMISSION I PASSED IT FIRST TIME FLYING COLORS. GOOD LUCK.

Question : What is Manufacturer Powertrain Problem Code 1391 for Acura SUV 19997?
My car is Acura SLX 1997 SUV and often times, whenever I drive it shows sign of "check engine." When diagnosed, it shows a code of 1391, meaning, Manufacturer Powertrain Problem or Trouble. What does it means? What is the trouble with my car? When erased thru the used of engine analyzer, it appeared again after 2 hours?
Answer:
I think you will have to go to the dealership about this one. This code does not show up on any Acura list. In generic terms, P1391 glow plug circuit low input (bank #1). Your car is not a diesel. Where you given the right code?

Question : 98 Nissan Altima poor idle quality, trouble code 304?
I have a lot of automotive experience, but with older engines. Sometimes this "high-tech" emissions crap is a bit over the top, and semi-functional at that. This condition began after an oil change that puddled onto the valve cover, swelled up the spark-plug boots, and soaked the top of the engine until I opened the hood, and reacting to what I observed, replaced the plugs and wires, yet the code 304 (misfire Cylinder #4) recurred. The car went back [to the same place that changed the oil!--Inventors of the 721 tire and the Wrangler series on Ford Explorers ; D ] and their diagnosis was intake manifold & valve cover gaskets. This is bull, and yes i know my roommate's trippin, bringin it back to them. One fuel injector plug-in was very loose, so I connected it back up and so far, no trouble code (I have a handheld like Suntune diagnostic analyzer) but is this most likely something in the EGR system? Please, I'd appreciate any help on this....

Question : What's up with the Meta Tag Analyzers on SEO sites?
My tags are good, at least they follow all the tutorial guidelines from www.w3schools.com. Yet these sites can't find them is it a gimic to get people to doubt they know how to do meta, so these search engine optimization sites can get paid. Or are my tags only good when looked through by some search engines, but not others.

Question : 2001 Chevy Venture taking 2 much gas, producing black smoke, turning off while I am waiting at a traffic light
I changed my engine 3 weeks ago as I blew up my head gasket. Ever since the engine change, my van is taking a LOT of gas and sometimes produces lots of clear smoke when I am driving on he highway. If I am parked in P, and give some gas, it is producing lots of black smoke. Also, my engine light has been on for a while and I took it to AutoZone today and they checked my van's computer. The analyzer reported that I have Mass Air Flow sensor and O2 sensor problem. So, today I replaced the MAF sensor and the problems seems NOT to have gone. I still see occasionally clear smoke while giving gas on highway and black smoke while being in P. I have already spent $3000 on my van changing the engine and spent $250 today changing MAF sensor and my battery as it was dying out.
As I said b4, while waiting at a light being in D, after 5-10 secs my van will start shaking and will eventually turn off.
Any help will be appreciated as I am very helpless.
Thank you all.
Answer:
When the check engine light goes on it means the cars computer is seeing a fault in one or more systems. Getting the trouble codes from an autoparts store can steer you in the right direction to repair but the code has to be diagnosed. It is not always a faulty sensor, it could be a bad ground, an open wire in a sensor circuit. I'm sure you don't want to go spend more money guessing the problem. A few things you can check to make sure that you must have a qualified tech fix the problem is to check the basics. 1. Make sure your battery cables are clean and tight. 2. Make sure the vacuum hoses are routed correctly and there are no leaks. 3. Make sure all electrical connections are properly connected and tight. You said that you had the engine changed because the head gasket was blown, as long as the engine is in good shape and the proper one for the vehicle it should run as well as it did before you blew the head gasket.
