Question : OBD-II code scanner Vs engine analyzer?
I am reading that, an engine analyzer can identify whether engine is misfiring or skipping firing at low rpm. While, i know about the OBD-II code readers which are used to read the engine check codes. Wondering will the OBD-II code reader is same as engine analyzer? Will Auto zone help me find it about engine firing?

Question : Placing Website On Search Engine Listing?
I have created mega tags for my website, and i have analyzed it with an analyzer, which says it is good, but I do not see my site on the first couple of pages of the search engine... Can anyone tel lme what I am doing wrong? www.photographsketching.com

Answer:
Metatags are merely just one element of getting top search engine rankings. There are on page factors (title, tags, content, keyword density) and off page factors (linking) Make your pages easy to index. Think about the terms that visitors will use to search for your information and make sure your pages include those words. Provide a unique title tag and meta description tag for each page. Use descriptive anchor text when linking to other pages of your site (e.g., "Obtain the latest federal tax forms for 2006" instead of "Click here for 2006 federal tax forms") Make your pages easy to find. Provide an HTML sitemap that contains links to pages deeper in the site. On your home page, include links to the major sections inside the site. If your site includes many pages, consider creating a browsable set of links that enables the visitor to choose a category, then see links within that category. Make sure search engines can access the content. Ensure pages of your site can be reached without cookies, registration, session IDs, or forms. Verify that your site isn't blocked with a robots.txt file and that search engines don't receive errors when trying to access your pages. (You can check both of these things using Google's webmaster tools.) Don't be an island. Responsibly interact with related sites to garner natural links, and -- more importantly -- mindshare. . Study the source. Regularly review search engines' often-updated official written advice (e.g., Webmaster Guidelines, blogs, etc.).

Question : So... I am preparing to take the L1 this spring...?
It's kinda making me nervous. Are you a certified master? Is there anything you can tell me (without cheating) that will help me get ready for the test? I'm certified in engine performance and hvac, the tests were fairly easy, been the driveability tech for the last 11 years at 3 different shops, and so yes I'm proficient and expedient, no comebacks, no misdiagnoses, obviously confident enough to brag (haha). So is the test as hard as it sounds? To me, it seems a little biased because, although the composite vehicle is accurate and the composite veh. manual has excellent info and specs, there are several different regions of the country that are not required to test emissions, thus the technicians in these areas would not have exposure to the 5 gas analyzer or subsequent emissions training. Also, the composite vehicle lacks a tire pressure monitor system wich is standard on all makes and models. What do you think? Did you pass the first time or have to take it two or three times?

Answer:
JUST STUDY GUIDES,READ THE QUESTIONS CLOSELY THERE JUST LIKE THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE THERE WILL BE GAS ANALIZER AREA QUESTIONS,EVAP,ELECTRICAL AND TRANSMISSION I PASSED IT FIRST TIME FLYING COLORS. GOOD LUCK.

Question : 2001 Hyundai Elantra - Transmission range sensor circuit malfunction?
The check engine light comes on sometimes but usually turns back off soon. The car never had a problem driving. A few weeks ago, the engine light came on. A few days passed and nothing seemed wrong, until I tried to start my car one night. It seemed like it was about to crank but couldn't completely start. After three times, it finally started, and this has happened a few more times. I took it to a friend and he said that I needed a new air filter, injector fluid cleaner, and other cleaner spray he can put through the system (I can't remember the name). I bought the air filter and injector fluid at Advanced Auto Parts, and I got them to use a engine analyzer machine on my car. This is what the machine said: P0456 ECAP Emission Control System Leak Very Small, P0455 EVAP Emission Control System Leak (Large), and P0705 Trans Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction. How much would it cost to fix the transmission range sensor circuit malfunction? How does one fix this? What else could be the prob? Also- My air filter was filty (I drive on dirt roads a lot). when I lifted up the air filter, I found dirt, which I vacuumed out. I replaced the filter already. The guy at Advanced Auto told me not to worried about the first two problems, but to worry about the transmission problem first. Also, I don't know if this helps - but sometimes it takes my car a few seconds to accelerate when I drive, like my car is having trouble shifting gears (it's an automatic). Sorry if this doesn't make sense. I am a complete car idiot. I don't know if I should worry this much or if it's something to worry about. I don't know what to do next! And I think I'mdriving my dad and boyfriend crazy with my worrying haha. Thanks for your answers. Paul, after I put the new air filter in and also put injector fluid into my full gas tank, it accelerates a lot better. Also, I had lost my gas cap and bought a new one the day the guy at advanced auto parts used the machine on my car. Now the only things I'm worried about are: Number one- the transmission range thing? My power steering pump is shot, would that have anything to do with that? Number two- Someone advised me to buy injector fluid spray so they could spray it into the system. I haven't been able to find it. Is there another name for it?

Answer:
the EVAP codes are from the gas cap. the trans range sensor is not only a neutral safety switch(only allows car to be started in park or neutral)but also tells the trans controller(computer) what gear you are in.if the computer gets the wrong signal you will have shifting problems. as far as how much money? depends if the switch is bad?an electrical short?bad computer? and dont listen to these people telling you to put additives in your car they often do more harm than good. change all your fluids and filters regularly! transmission shop owner

Question : 2001 chevy venture --- Slow take off and taking lots o gas with clear smoke coming out from tailpipe?
I replaced my engine three weeks ago as I blew up my head gasket. The mechanic assured me that I will be fine by replacing the engine. So I replaced by spending $2400 on it. And, now my van is consuming LOTS LOTS of gas. I barely go for 23 miles in $10(3 gallons) of gas. Also, my van is having a very very slow take off. I really realy have to put my foot on gas real hard to let he van take off and see lots of clear smoke from my tail pipe. My engine light was on and through analyzer, I found out that mass air flow and O2 sensor are malfunction. Also, analyzer reported other three codes such as 408, 412, 443. I replaced the MAF sensor and problems is still persisting. I have already spent sooo much on this van and I am not being comfortable spending any more. Please help me out here and any advice will be helpful.

Answer:
how come you didnt go back to the guy who replaced the engine? He should have had it running perfect before he gave it back to you!!!!!! Sounds to me like something is not hooked up right. Mayeb an O2 sensor unplugged. Maybe a coolant temp sensor unlugged or plugged in the wrong place. Have him go back over all his work and dont take the van untill it is running right!

Question : 89 GMC JIMMY full size (ECMB) FUSE BLOWS?
I'M TROUBLESHOOTING THE ECMB FUSE BLOWING ON MY JIMMY, O.K. HERE WE GO: I'VE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP/STRAINER, FUEL PUMP RELAY, OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, ECM, CHECKED THE WIRING AROUND THE FIREWALL-FUELPUMP RELAY/OIL PRESSURE SWITCH WIRING, AND DOWN THE CHASIS FOR THE FUEL PUMP WIRING ALL APPEARS NORMAL,PUT AN ANALYZER ON THE ECM NO FAULTS, AFTER RUNNING THE ENGINE FOR AWHILE AT IDLE FUSE O.K., WHEN THROTTLE ACCELERATED THE FUSE BLOWS, I'M STUMPED ON THIS ONE! I'VE BEEN STRANDED TO MANY TIMES WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THE TRUCK IS NOT GOING NO WHERE UNTIL I'VE CONFIDENT IT'S NOT GOING TO BREAK DOWN! $$$$$$$$ COST MOUNTING!

Answer:
I vaguely remember something from years ago about the ecmb being the injector driver,If that was the case, then maybe there is something strange going on with the injectors or wiring at the throttle body.Just a thought, don't want to send you down the wrong path.

Question : Why are emission tests unreliable, yet the testers act like they know it all? One couldn't even find the DLC.
I failed emissions and then circled around and went to a different test stall and passed. I warmed up the engine and drove a bit prior to getting tested. I had tested it as well with my 4 gas analyzer and it was within specs. Also, there was no line so I didn't have to sit and idle at all. This has happened to me three times in three different vehicles (no fords) in the last 10 years. One was a Chevy sprint, one was a '77 vette L48, one was an Olds Delta 88. I believe the tests are not accurate or the equipment is miscalibrated, or it's just a money making scheme for the State and Certified Emissions Repair Services. Also, the last one I took through, ('84 500SEL) failed miserably, Like by 1000%. I threw a tune up and adjusted the timing (which was out 20 degrees) and it ran great so I went for it. This time though, I idled for about 20 minutes while they couldn't input the title data. (this car had never had emissions not required where it came from). Also didn't run it prior.

Answer:
Anthony: You are a smart guy. Ever notice the Testing Company IS NOT from the state your living in? Key word is "Money Making Scheme". I have had to pass Vehicle emissions tests in N.Y., Arizona, Idaho, & Tennessee. All Hot Rods. Fail first time, readjusted and was back in 15 minutes. Testing company said How and who made repairs. I said myself, and no repair, ADJUSTMENTS. Passed every time on second pass. One time, I had mufflers with outside baffles. The guy didn't know where to take exhaust sample. A well tuned stock 1966 Chevrolet Impala with a 2 BBL carb. (283 CID ) will STILL pass any test in any state. My opinion: Same as yours. Scam!

Question : Give me your opinion insights and summary or how you understand this..?
Give me your opinion insights and summary or how you understand this..?

Answer:
Reality check. The philippines has good sound laws but corrupt political influences always delay the implementation of these laws. By the time these laws are enforced, they become so obsolete that another law must be passed (just like the politicians who regularly pass gas - i.e. fart through their mouth).

Question : My dodge b1500 1997 van 3.9L 6cyl. The van cuts off-replaced many sensors any ideas?
It happens when i come to stop at a light or after i stop (for gas) and crusing down the highway it starts to cut off and i have to restart on road. I think it is some sensor because i replaced: Fuel pump - (in tank) It was going bad anyway as it turned out (no fuel pressure - not up to spec) so this was good TPS throttle position sensor Ignition Coil Distributor Coil Idle Air Cntrol Rotor/distbutor Plug wires Plugs Air filter. Of course, It runs much better as these DID need changing but, it still stalls. Seems to be no way to predict conditions that occur to cause the engine shutdown. I noticed the lights did go out once when it was about to stall. But that doesnt happen every time. I dont have enough $ to replace all the sensors and / or the EMT computer (unless you know that is what is wrong). The van usually starts back up but sometimes with difficulty. Sometimes I must turn off the key and try again to get it started. Otherwise, if I start cranking it then it doesn't fire up. It's like it is not getting fuel, but, see details below for what I have replaced. Anyway, no codes come back. it failed while on the analyzer and they still couldnt figure it out. I was told a relay could be bad too. I switched all the identical relays around but no luck. -------------- The parts I want to try next are expensive so I am trying to narrow this down: Ignition Switch Crank position sensor Cam position sensor MCU (computer) I appreciate any and all answers. There are no codes and I did replace the serpentine belt. All the sensors I replaced needed replacing. I am glad I replaced them. This is 10-yr old technology and if you remember computers were just barley Pentium chips. Car computers were far behind and much more simple. The computer is fairly hot to touch but, I dont know how much heat it can tolerate. For those who are saying have it tested, I need to know what to look for in the type of testing equipment that should be used and how much to spend on testing. I agree Chrysler or Dodge would be the best place to have it tested. But I fear the 400.00 bill surprise for the testing then have to still buy the part and replace it. I'd rather replace all the parts in a logical order and use that $ for parts.

Answer:
First, if it was a Sensor It would come up on the Diagnostic Read Out. You Said Part of the Problem: If I try to Start the Engine right after it Dies "It's Like It's Getting NO Fuel!" At the Fuel Tank there 2 Air Vents 1 a Small vent Hole in the Fuel Cap (Replace Cap) 2 Vent Tube on the Top of the Tank with a Small hose, Hose or Tube Could be Blocked or Clogged! (As Fuel leaves the Tank a Vacuum is Created, Air comes in through the Vents to Prevent That Vacuum to Maintain Fuel Flow.) Alternator: With a Good Charged Battery & Engine Running you should read 12.8V to 13.7v at the Battery Showing you that the Alternator is Working Properly. Also Have the Alternator Tested for a Corrct Amperage Output! Battery; If 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 Years Old or looks Swollen (Shorted) on the Sides Replace It! If the Battery Seems good, with it Fully Charged have it "Load Tested" at 50% CCA for 15 Seconds! Battery should Not Drop Below 9.6 Volts During the Test! This shows you that the Battery will Take and Hold a Charge. With a Hand Held Gage Check the Fuel Pressure at the Fuel Pump on the Engine or at the throttle Body. If Good Do you have Fuel at the Injectors (Loosen!! "One at a Time") Lines at the Injectors? ("Take the Coil Wire Off For this Test!!) Do you Have Spark at the Plugs? May need New Plug Wires and/or Plugs. NOTE; Control units are: ECM (Engine Control Module for the Engime) & ECU (Electronic Control Unit for the Transmission)

Question : Will I over extend my credit?
Two years ago I had no credit. So my mom co-signed on a car for me. I have been making more than the monthy payment for two years. 6 months ago I was able to open two credit cards. Both are nearly maxed out but due to a bonus I just received from work, one will be paid off ($1000 credit limit) and the other will be half paid off ($4000 credit limit). My current credit score is currently 710 but using a credit analyzer my credit score should go up by almost 40 points by paying down my cards. In a few months my fiance and I want to buy a house. He just filed for bankruptcy (court is completed but it is not fully discharged yet) so we will be relying on my credit for the house purchase. Recently his engine blew in his car. He wants me to co-sign on a car loan for him. If I do this how will it affect me being able to buy a house? Will my credit be over extended? My fiance is 34 so he will not ask his parents for help. He is a grown man. I do not have bad CC debt so I don't need to reduce my debt. I am using those cards to increase my credit score. I carried balances on them for 6 months and now I will be paying them off. In doing so I will raise my already 710 credit score up by 40 points!!!Please stop giving me suggestions to credit counseling. I just wanted to know about how finacing a car will affect buying a house.

Answer:
If possible - wait until you get the house before you do anything about the other car. Especially if the lender is only looking at your income/credit. If you co-sign it goes against your debt-to-income ratio. So yes, it can over extended your credit.
